Robbie, who stated in a pre-show interview that she was wearing Chanel, opted for minimal accessories, letting the dress take center stage, pairing it with beachy waves hairstyle and natural makeup, except her diamond engagement ring.
The term “Barbiecore-light” might be more fitting to describe Margot Robbie’s appearance, as the soft color of her dress is less bold than a typical Barbie look. It’s possible that Robbie has already explored a more full-on Barbie aesthetic while filming the upcoming movie “Barbie” directed by Greta Gerwig, in which she plays the main character. When pictures of her in costume went viral, Robbie shared with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” that she felt embarrassed by the outfits, stating “I was like, ‘This is the most humiliating moment of my life.’ So embarrassed.”
Margot Robbie has nothing to be ashamed of regarding her dress choice, it has a subtle hint of a Barbie aesthetic which is elegant and sophisticated. The understated look is a far cry from the more over-the-top Barbie-inspired ensembles that often feature in her role in the upcoming Barbie movie. And it seems that the vibes of this movie will be different than the one she played in Babylon. As Robbie stated in her interview with Loni Love that the two movies have “different vibes”
