In Love & Thunder, see Natalie Portman’s comic-accurate portrayal of the Mighty Thor.

The trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has arrived. We get our first look at Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder. Also, there is a quick shot of the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy minus Gamora. The teaser trailer ends on the most epic of moments.

Jane Foster aka The Mighty Thor took over the mantle of the Thor back in a run of Marvel comics dating from 2015 to 2018. The initial run was titled, Thor. Dr. Jane Foster lifts Mjolnir as Thor and becomes the Goddess of Thunder. The above trailer seems to follow The Unworthy Thor as Thor is now referred to as Odinson, and he attempts to figure out his place in the world.

Natalie Portman as Jane Foster in the teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok offers us an identical look to how she will play the role in the movie. The new Goddess of Thunder holds some similarities to how Thor usually looks, only she opts to have a full-face mask, with wings on either side. The wings on the mask for Thor only briefly happened in the film, and now comparing that to how Natalie Portman looks in the trailer offers an identical result.

The majority of the components are true to the comic. Natalie Portman appears to be wearing the more live-action form of the armor, with conductors strewn around her frontal armor. We do, however, get a full-face mask with W-like etching, blonde hair, and wings on both sides.

Thor: Love and Thunder will air on July 8th, and we’ll finally get to witness Jane Foster’s role as The Mighty Thor in the big scheme of things. If this is Chris Hemsworth’s final performance as Thor, he appears to be in capable hands. Natalie Portman looks fantastic in her comic-accurate outfit, which might indicate that she will have more opportunities to play the eponymous hero in future installments.
