Zendaya continues to dominate the red carpet (or should we say white carpet?) as she promotes her upcoming film “Challengers.” The 27-year-old actress recently attended a photocall in Milan, Italy, looking every bit the elegant tennis star she portrays in the movie.
Clad in a stunning white halter neck skater minidress, Zendaya exuded an aura of sophistication. The dress perfectly complemented her toned physique, and the simple silver jewelry she adorned added a touch of class. Sticking with the tennis theme she’s embraced throughout the promotional tour, Zendaya added height with a pair of stylish pointed heels. Her short wavy locks cascaded down her shoulders, and her flawless makeup accentuated her natural beauty.
The photocall wasn’t a solo act for Zendaya. She was joined by her co-stars, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist. O’Connor opted for a classic navy blue jacket paired with wide-legged trousers, while Faist chose a smart grey shirt and trouser combination.
In “Challengers,” which hits theaters on April 26th, Zendaya portrays Tashi Duncan, an aspiring tennis player whose career is cut short due to a serious injury. Forced to pivot, Tashi becomes a coach for her colleague Art (played by Mike Faist). As their bond deepens, love blossoms, leading to marriage. However, things get complicated when Art enters the Challenger Tour and comes face-to-face with Tashi’s ex-boyfriend, Patrick (played by Josh O’Connor).
This Milan appearance comes hot on the heels of Zendaya’s surprising appearance on BBC’s The One Show. Fans were left in disbelief, calling it “surreal” that the Hollywood A-lister graced the early evening program. Zendaya sported a chic plaid outfit with towering blue heels during the interview, further solidifying her fashion icon status.
During her time on The One Show, Zendaya discussed the challenges of portraying a tennis player, the complexities of her character’s relationships, and the film’s exploration of themes beyond just romance.
“Tennis is no joke,” Zendaya remarked, expressing her newfound respect for the sport. “There’s co-dependence and hatred along with the romance in this film. The characters are complex and human, especially Tashi. She’s not the easiest person, but there’s a fragility to her. It was about finding that balance and understanding what lies beneath the surface.” Watch this evening program below:
With Zendaya’s undeniable star power and the intriguing plot of “Challengers,” the film is sure to be a hit with audiences.
