Impressively dumb wordplay aside, my mental faculties have somewhat disintegrated ever since Zendaya graced the world premiere of Dune: Part Two in London on February 15. The 27-year-old actress appeared on the sandy carpet adorned in a robotic ensemble, combining metallic and translucent elements.
This stunning ensemble by Zendaya and the renowned Image Architect not only captivates but also resurrects a piece of fashion history from the Mugler archives, precisely Thierry Mugler’s 1995 robot suit. Law Roach affirmed its authenticity with an Instagram post featuring Muhammad Ali’s iconic quote, “I am the greatest.” And truly, who could dispute that?
In March 2023, Roach refuted rumors linking Zendaya to his unexpected retirement from celebrity styling, denouncing claims of “politics” and “lies.” He asserted to the media that he had no intention of severing ties with the Euphoria star.
“I don’t have to style Zendaya to be a part of her team and her creativity team, right?” Roach said in an interview with The Cut in March. “So maybe if I choose, you know, not to be her stylist, I can still be her creative director and I can still, you know, manage a stylist or however I choose to do it. I haven’t made a decision. She’s giving me the grace to be able to make that decision because we really have a kinship. Like, you know, we’ve grown up together. And that’s all I ever asked, was for people who I worked so hard for to just give me grace when I need it.”
