Gal Gadot teases the “Next Chapter” in Wonder Woman 3 on the anniversary of the casting announcement. The actress is commemorating the nine years since Wonder Woman’s casting was initially revealed by taking a look back and teasing the “next chapter” that is still to come. On Tuesday, Gadot posted a picture of herself from the first Wonder Woman movie to Instagram. In the caption, she expressed her thanks for the opportunity to portray the legendary role and expressed excitement for the fans to experience the heroine’s next adventures.
“On this day, a few years ago, was the first announcement that I was going to play Wonder Woman,” Gadot posted. “I’ve been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I’m grateful for YOU. The fans. The most amazing, warm, loving fans in the world. I’m still pinching myself to see if I will wake up. Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you.”
During a 2021 conversation between director Patty Jenkins and Lynda Carter, the star of the first Wonder Woman television series, Wonder Woman 3 was formally announced at DC Fan Dome. Although Gal Gadot released an update on the movie’s screenplay back in April, there haven’t been much developments on the threequel since then.
Gal also gave interview to Forbes: “We’re talking! We’re actually in the mix of working on the script and getting the third one made, so it’s all wheels are working and turning and I’m super, super excited for the fans to come and watch Wonder Woman 3 once it’s made.”
Though the schedule and intentions for Wonder Woman 3 have not yet been made public, Gadot’s post seems to suggest that progress is still being made. For DC fans, it is wonderful news, especially given the recent changes at Warner Bros. James Gunn, director of The Suicide Squad, and Peter Safran, producer of Shazam!, took over leadership of the newly established DC Studios, which is only dedicated to DC Comics characters, last month. Fans should receive a better update when Gunn and Safran disclose their intentions for the DC Universe property by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
