One of the most sought-after performers in Hollywood right now is Idris Elba. The actor has shown he is excellent at what he does in a variety of projects, including Luther, Hobbs and Shaw, Pacific Rim, and others. Elba has also been a part of the MCU and DC franchises, two of the largest. In The Suicide Squad, he portrayed Bloodsport, and in Thor: Ragnarok, Heimdall.
Elba is now making headlines for being one of the top candidates to be the next James Bond. For the uninitiated, Daniel Craig’s final performance as the British super-spy in No Time to Die marked the beginning of the quest for the next 007 character.
Henry Cavill, Richard Madden, Regé-Jean Page, Tom Hardy, and other actors are up for consideration to be the next James Bond, along with Idris Elba. An update on his future in DC as Bloodsport has emerged in the midst of it. A journalist named Erik Davis tweeted a portion of his conversation with Idris.
“I just spoke with Idris Elba about his new film Beast,” Erik Davis said. “I asked what we’ll see him in next – a Marvel project or DC, and he said DC,” he added and continued, “He said he’s got a really big thing cooking for DC right now.” This means that fans will get to see more of Bloodsport. Maybe they can make a spin-off series just like they did with John Cena’s Peacemaker.
A lot of other depressing news is coming out of DC, so it is wonderful to hear this. For those who are unaware, Warner Bros. cancelled the eagerly anticipated Batgirl movie after spending $90 million on it. Regarding the actor, Beast, his forthcoming movie, will be released on August 19.
In addition, Idris Elba co-starred with Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, and others in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
