Only a few days after releasing her 7th solo studio album “Chemtrails Over The Country Club,” Lana Del Rey has announced that she has another one on the way. “Rock Candy Sweet” will be released on June 1, 2021 and as she promised the album will challenge accusations of “cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse.” Domestic violence is a serious issue and the laws disqualifies you from owning a gun in Colorado state if you are convicted of a felony or some other domestic misdemeanors. It is such a severe crime that it is nearly impossible to get employed after a domestic violence conviction. Therefore, it is advised not to glamorize or trivialize such serious and sensitive issues.
Del Rey announced a new album via Instagram Stories that you can read here, in which she responded to a Harper’s Bazaar article which was titled “Lana Del Rey can not qualify her way out of being held accountable.” The singer screenshoted the article and write a text over it: “Just want to thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse. I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record on June 1 titled ‘Rock Candy Sweet’.” The influence of art in bringing out such issues and motivating the victims to approach domestic disputes lawyers and get out of the unhealthy relationships is worth mentioning. But if the accused is falsely accused, they can contact attorneys for domestic violence defense who can help them out of the situation and clear their name.
Manhattan, New York-born artist had another story on her Instagram, with the screenshot of one of the paragraphs of Harper’s Bazaars article, saying: “I knew what people were going to say. So when they actually started saying things, I responded and I just said, ‘I got a lot of issues but inclusivity is not one of them.’ It just i not. You can not just make it my problem.”
Lana Del Rey also responded the article’s comments about her thoughts on former US President Donald Trump and the storming of the US Capitol: “Trump is so significantly impaired that he may not know what he was doing due to his significant lack of empathy and the wider-ranging problem is the issue of sociopathy and narcissism in America.”
She also claims that her new album will be a ‘revenge’ on critics. You can check out the announcement below:
