Shakira’s songs has been acquired by British investment company “Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited”.
As Bloomberg announced the company got rights on 145 songs of the singer. Among this songs are hits like: “Hips Don’t Lie”, “Whenever”, “Wherever”, “La Tortura”, “She Wolf” and “Waka Waka” (This Time for Africa). The amount and details of the transaction was not published.
“Being a songwriter is an achievement that I consider equal to and perhaps even more than being a singer and artist. At eight years old – long before I started singing – I wrote to find meaning in this world. Each song is a reflection of who I was at the time when I wrote it, but as soon as the song is released, it belongs not only to me, but also to those who liked it, “-Said Shakira in the interview.
1 week earlier British company became the owner of 50% of Neil Young’s songs.
